Here are the basics of what you should know:
1.If there are only four numbers in the PLU, this means that the produce was grown conventionally or “traditionally” with the use of pesticides. The last four letters of the PLU code are simply what kind of vegetable or fruit. An example is that all bananas are labeled with the code of 4011.

2.If there are five numbers in the PLU code, and the number starts with “8″, this tells you that the item is a genetically modified fruit or vegetable. Genetically modified fruits and vegetables trump being organic. So, it is impossible to eat organic produce that are grown from genetically modified seeds. A genetically engineered (GE or GMO) banana would be: 84011

3.If there are five numbers in the PLU code, and the number starts with “9″, this tells you that the produce was grown organically and is not genetically modified.  An organic banana would be: 94011

Looking for some new music that is upbeat, deep, and meaningful at the same time....Then check out The Poets Of The Fall....A band out of Finland....They have been together for 10-years, and have a substantial fan base in their home country, as well Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Switzerland, Austria...just to name a few.

Their front man, Marko Saaresto, is the lead singer and he also writes most of their lyrics....He is backed by lead guitarist Ollie Tukiainen, Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen on keyboards, with Jari Salminen on drums, Jani Snellman on bass guitar, and Jaska Makinen on rhythm guitar and back-up vocals.

I could rave on and on about this band, and how great I think they are, but I will leave up to you make your determination on the quality and worth of this band....

Renunciation

According to Tibetan Buddhism, in order to reach liberation, one must renunciate samsara, or those attachments to the material world. However, renunciation has a different connotation than what we might have in the western world. It really does not mean that we should do without pleasures, it is actually based more upon perspective; in other words, the extreme mind, which is what we deal with most of the time, is a grasping mind, it is a craving mind, and it places an overestimated value on objects and people, which would have nothing to do with the reality of the object or the person. That is a definition of renunciation that I can live with.

Crying is an emotional release and if you feel the need to cry you should let it out. Here are a few facts about the act of crying. I thought they were interesting, so of course I wanted to share.

1) Emotional tears have a different chemical composition than tears caused by irritants, such as onions.

2) Crying in public was considered normal until the Industrial Revolution, when diligent unemotional workers were needed to operate machinery.

3) Men’s tear ducts are smaller than women’s tear ducts.

4) One major stress hormone released from the body via tears, prolactin, is found in much higher concentration in women's bodies than in men's. (This makes sense when you consider that the hormone is also implicated in the synthesis of breast milk).

5) Babies cry but they don't produce tears until one to three months after birth.

6) When a person cries and the first drop of tears comes from the right eye.

7) In Japan, crying for emotional release is all the rage, or so reports the Independent. The Japanese call it the "crying boom" - everyone wants a bit of sadness in their lives. Instead of going to a karaoke bar after work to wind down, businesspeople watch weepy films (called "tear films") at these crying clubs. There is also a huge demand for sad TV dramas and books, each graded by its ability to induce tears.

Screaming at an anthropomorphic god for natural disasters, disease, & death is an insane rant. Asking how can such a god can exist is just as insane, for such a god does not exist. This is it, simple enough, the universe is alive; therefore, natural disasters will occur here on planet earth just as they do in outer space. The human body gets sick, thus disease is a natural occurrence. People God did not put us here, we did. Life and death are the only true realities...

Life's Drama...

It's interesting to me how so many people complain about the drama in their relationships:

He doesn't understand...

She won't make up her mind...

He thinks he knows everything....

She's stringing me along...

And blobbity...blobbity...blah...

Folks...if you don't like the drama...then just get out....you know...take your exit...walk off the stage...

Clearly, if you're doing so much complaining...you're not very happy...
